Sarkar, which released on November 6, 2018 had enjoyed a record breaking opening day and according to a tweet by a popular trade analyst, the film went on to break the opening day collection record of Bollywood movie Sanju as well by fetching approximately 35 Crores.
Going by the reports that surfaced, with such a massive opening, the film went on to become the top day 1 grosser among all the Indian movies released in this particular year so far and it was indeed a great achievement for the movie.
Meanwhile, Thugs Of Hindostan had made an even bigger release in the theatres on November 8, 2018. The film had opened to some negative reviews but reports suggest that it hasn't affected the collection of the movie much.
If the reports that have been doing the rounds are to be believed, Thugs Of Hindostan has made a business of approximately 40-50 Crores at the box office on its opening day. If these figures are to be believed, Thugs Of Hindostan has overtaken Sarkar to become the top day grossing Indian movie of 2018.
Meanwhile, Sarkar reigns supreme in the theatres across South India. The film has been doing a fabulous business in Tamil Nadu and now, all eyes are on the performance of the movie in the upcoming weekend.
