    Palani has always been a synonym to Palani Murugan Temple since its formation. Therefore, it wouldn't be wise to visit Palani and not explore its beautiful Murugan Temple. The temple is located atop a hill in the charming Palani Hills and is said to have been established thousands of years ago. However, the current building of the temple is believed to have been constructed during the reign of the Chera dynasty.

    One can easily access the temple by a rope car. The temple overlooks the town and provides its visitors with the panoramic beauty of Palani. Therefore, it also allures thousands of photographers too. On an average, the temple is frequented by about 7 million tourists and Hindu devotees every year.
